Three day
kitesurf course
The three day kitesurfing course is our most popular course. It covers all the elements you need to become a kitesurfer and gives you extra time to practice and progress under close supervision. We can correct your mistakes and tweak your technique so you start from further ahead when you go solo. You can also build the confidence to go to any beach, assess the location and conditions, set up your kite, launch it and get out on the water safely.
Day one
We cover all the elements of our one day course, starting with some theory and a safety briefing, and then getting straight into the water. You will learn to control the kite and use it to power yourself downwind through (and sometimes over) the water.
Once we have harnessed the power, then we start to use the kite in a controlled way to take us in different directions, and learn some key skills such as body dragging up wind. We do not always use the board on the first day as kite control is 80% of the skill in kitesurfing and there is so much to learn.
Day two
Day two is all practical. We get straight in the water to catch up on any body dragging from the day before, but usually we start with board work at the beginning of day two. We spend most of the day working at getting up on the board, and starting to travel.
We also practice launching and landing the kite on the beach and walking safely with it on the land. These are very important skills to have if you are going to come down to the beach on your own, set up and go out safely. We will also fit in a self rescue exercise so that you are able to get yourself safely back to shore if you ever get into difficulties.
Day three
Your third day is a practical one too. We continue with the board work, aiming to get you travelling in both directions, and stopping too!
Each instructor at Airzone Kitesurf School has been teaching kitesurfing for over ten years, and are senior instructors or examiners within the IKO and BKSA. This top level experience means we can tailor our coaching to your specific needs and help you develop in the fastest and most positive way for you personally.
During your third day, we will also repeat any elements that feel you need more confidence in or need to improve, so that you feel ready to go out kitesurfing on your own.
Our aim in a three day course is to give you all the skills and knowledge you need to kitesurf independently, a foundation to become a great all round kitesurfer.
You can decide whether to add a third day after you have completed a two day course, depending on how you get on.
Buy a kitesurfing gift voucher!
The perfect gift for birthdays, Christmas, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day or just to say I love you. Buy a voucher for one of our kitesurf courses, or choose a value amount to put towards any course.
What to bring
We provide all equipment including wetsuits and safety gear. But if you have your own, bring wetsuit and booties. You then just need to bring your swimming gear to wear under the wetsuit, a towel, some warm clothes and sunscreen, etc. Everything you would expect for a day at a Great British beach, depending on the weather. Something to eat and drink would be good for some extra energy and in case you end up drinking some salt water!
Where to come
We meet at our kitesurfing spot at Meon Shore, Hill Head. It’s right opposite the Isle of Wight and we get the wind funneling through the gap between the island and the mainland, straight onto our beach. Which means we get more wind than the rest of the south coast.

Fair cancellation policy
If you cancel your booked session and we can fill your place we will refund your deposit or rebook your date. If we can’t fill your place and have previously turned other students away because of your booking, you may forfeit your deposit. If the wind doesn’t blow, or blows too much to be safe to teach, we will postpone your lesson to another day that suits you. If you can’t come back, we will refund any unused lesson time.
No wind no pay
If there is no wind or too much wind on the day of your course we will rebook a time that suits you or refund any unused lesson time if you can’t come back. You will never lose any lesson time. We believe you should get real value from your lessons, so if the conditions mean you are not going to progress or get the most out of your session, we won’t waste your time and charge you for it.
We ask you to call the night before or the morning of your kitesurf lesson to check conditions. This will save you a wasted journey if you have a long way to travel, and the wind is not going to be good. We will then rebook to another time.
